His Passion!

The sun filters through the classroom filled with seekers! Seekers of God! They have come from many different expressions of our faith and yet we are brought together by our hunger for more of Him.Some have come to learn, some to find comfort, some for the fellowship, and some don’t know, but we’ve all answered some call to ‘come.’Ordinary people who have taken time to search for more understanding of their "Master!" I've learned some of their names, (and stories) over the last few days. I have found friendship in this instant community of "followers of Jesus." In our conversations we have discovered the same love and Lover. We have looked through stories of the ‘passion of Christ.’ The differences between the gospels have illuminated not only the Christ, but the community to which they spoke.Suddenly I realize that it is not us that have looked at the ‘passion’ but the ‘passion’ that has looked at us. The bright, blinding eastern sun bolding shines into this room revealing each of us.We, this little community of eclectic believers, we have been exposed by His Passion. Just as the sun streams through the windows, so the ‘passion of Christ’ is streaming into our lives. His passion reveals our differences and our shared beliefs. Our unique struggles, strengths, and journeys are somehow revealed to us and to each other in the midst of this illuminating process. Now we are sharing our favorite account with each other, and I am stunned at how He has revealed His favorite passion story to us!The more important question is how we will live in response to His “Passion.” Have we been transformed? Are we “reaching forward?”Having been exposed to His “Passion” are we exposing Him to the world around us?I am forced to realize that this little group is the “body of Christ.” To ‘remember’ that every community of the faithful is the “body of Christ.” We who are being exposed to the “Passion” are being transformed by, and united too the Christ.Filled with His Spirit we will each return to our preferred worship community and hopefully revealing the “Risen One!”
