Let's Agree….

Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.† (Matt. 18:19-20 )AMPOne of my Dad’s favorite saying was, “We are always better together!” We understood that each of our individual needs and desires were always subject to what was best for the family. Generally what was best for all of us was best for each of us.I have always known that my greatest accomplishments have never been the results of my single endeavor. Only as I worked along side others were we together able to do the things that the Lord called us to do.We live in the midst of a generation where individualism has nearly destroyed the ability of our communities to accomplish much of anything. Jesus gave us this great promise and yet we seem to be falling short of it’s potential. Governments shutdown. Marriages fall apart. And the church is still the most segregated people on the earth. We can agree on the reality that; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).We can agree that God loves, that God gave and that everyone who believes receives everlasting life. We can agree that this is a gift and that it is not achieved but received through grace. We can agree that there are “whoever believes” is qualified by the Love of God to be His.There is no room for political parties disguised as denominations or interpretations in the church. The gospel is simply the Good News of God’s choice of all who will receive and believe the marvelous gift of Christ. While many are arguing over when or if He is returning we could all be experiencing Him right now if we would merely “gather and agree.”
