The Power of Prayer

In Joshua chapter ten we read the glorious story of God's powerful intervention in the ongoing battle between the Israelites and their enemies. With the sun setting far to rapidly for a full victory, understanding how much this battle meant, Joshua boldly cried out in front of all to hear and see, “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” In response to the command of the prayer of Joshua the sun and moon actually stopped and the battle was overwhelming. The text actually says, "And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel. What an amazing statement, it resonates through my soul,  "...the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel."Generations later Jesus would say, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." Our Father desires to hear and heed our voice as much today as in Joshua's. The question that lingers in our day is if we are willing to pray?Do we grasp the significance of our generation? The value of this moment? Do we appreciate the privilege that we have to pray? Will we stand up in front of everyone and make our prayer to God?Join me... in prayer and let's see if the Sun and Moon will stand still again.(Visit fathershouse.net and join in the "Concert of Prayer" daily)
