Above All Things...
It was like yesterday.... my dear friend and mentor handed me his old worn bible and had me read this passage: "Above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a mulititude of sins.' (1 Peter 4:8). First, and foremost, "fervently love each other."I love this verse out: "Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. It is, in fact, the one thing that still stands when all else has fallen." (1 Cor. 13:7 Phillips).Man's spiritual condition is directly connected to his ability to receive and to give love! And man's natural condition is a result of his spiritual life. If ever there was a moment when humanity need and "awakening" it is now!The Light of the world is God. And God is Love! And He is Life! "If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us." (1 John 4:12).I do not think we can deny that there is at present a definite trend in the direction of religion of a shallow social type. Should we not give priority to the manifestation of the supernatural world, the actual presence of God, working within our visible lives. Did not the LOVE OF GOD reveal Himself in physcial ways that left no doubt of His exsistence or His will? Our Love or lack there of for one another tells the whole story of who we are and whom we serve. Saint Peter said; "ABOVE ALL THNGS,HAVE A FERVERT LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER..."There a "Spiritual Awakening" that is emerging! It is an "Awakening" of the very LOVE of God.13 If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. 14 Either way, Christ’s love controls us.[c] Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.[d] 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. 16 So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Cor. 5:13-17 NLT)Yes, it is crazy! It can make you seem like your are "drunk", but when you receive the Love of God your life will become totally NEW! You won't see yourself, other people, anything the way you used to! Scales fall off your eyes and you are "awakened" to an entirely new way of being....There is an Awakening happening! It is an awakening of and to the LOVE OF THE FATHER!My prayer is that right now you open yourself to this great reality!!!!
