If you're Happy & you know it!

I learned this little song in Sunday School! If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands. If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

If you're happy and you know it, "then your face will surely show it"

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

I’m thinking of teaching it to the church on Sunday! Right!?!?!

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God.. (Ps.146:5).

In his attempt to explain the behavior of the newly spirit filled congregation of the upper room Peter quoted not only the prophet Joel, but also King David; “...In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Acts 2:28 & Psalm 16:11). In other words when God shows up people are filled with Joy. I think they were happy. On that first day “If you were happy and you know it ... then your face will surely show it.” I mean seriously, when the Spirit of the Risen Christ takes up residence in your life your mood, your attitude, your outlook changes, dramatically. The Christian message (the recorded history) is that the KING OF KINGS has taken up permanent residence in your heart. Think about it for a minute..... that should make you happy! It would result in Joy (or as Nehemiah put it, strength).

Jesus had told them “.... your joy no one will take from you. (22)“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. (23)Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:24)

No one will take this joy away! I wonder why he said that? I think it is because He knew He was never going to leave your presence again.  In other words, you would always have His Presence with you.  And if you are always in His Presence then you should always be “happy.”

Wow! When I think like this it brings clarity to my own prayer life. “Lord, let me know.... let me see You. Let me wake up this morning and realize that You are here with me right now! Let my fears of the day fade away and help me to know that You are more real than the day that I face.”   He answers that prayer. “Yes I am... I am singing!”

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

If you're happy and you know it, and "then your face will surely show it"

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.

You can’t sing that and not be happy! Happy Monday..... just keep on singing!!!!
