Narnian and loving it!!!

So I was up early this morning reading one of my favorite C. S. Lewis books, “The Silver Chair.” I’ve been pondering this discourse from the book all morning:One word, Ma’am. . . . All you’ve been saying is quite right. . . . So I won’t deny any of what you said. But there’s one more thing to be said, even so. Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things— trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and Aslan himself. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones. Suppose this black pit of a kingdom of yours is the only world. Well, it strikes me as a pretty poor one. We’re just babies making up a game, if you’re right. But four babies playing a game can make a play world which licks your real world hollow. That’s why I am going to stand by the play world. I’m on Aslan’s side even if there isn’t any Aslan to lead it. I’m going to be as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia.I believe in the Jesus story! I believe He came to establish a New Kingdom with a new way of living! I live in the midst of events that can make me forget the Kingdom story. But I agree with Puddlegum, (C. S. Lewis), our dreams, (our faith) is worth more than our realities. Sometimes it is hard to continue to believe, but believe we must.We must believe that loving and forgiving and turning the other cheek is the way of the Kingdom. We must continue to live out of this hope, this dream even on days when it appears that there is no hope. The Scriptures tell us of that the Kingdom of God is real. Jesus said the Kingdom is here, and He has us pray that the Kingdom will manifest in our midst. The idea of this Kingdom coming into a tangible reality is dependent upon those who live in faith.Faith in what others consider a dream, but what we know as reality. Faith, Hope, and Love; these are the substances of the Kingdom of God.I’m going to be as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn’t any Narnia. Translated into our world, “I’m going to be as like Christ as I can even if there isn’t any Christ.”
