Draw me....

"Draw me, we will run after thee..." Song of Solomon 1:4Jeremiah said, "... with loving kindness have I drawn thee" (31:3). Hosea, "I drew them with cord of a man, with bands of love..." (11:4)."To cause to move continuously toward" ... this is what it means to "draw". With every passing day I can sense Him 'causing me to move towards Him.'  I am so grateful that He is ever pulling me towards Himself. Even now I sense His tug.Have you ever had someone reach out and pull you close? In a time of need, the embrace of one who cares is the safest place in the universe. In those moments of doubt and fear, a gentle arm pulls you near and suddenly all the fear is gone! In those times when you are in need of love you need His tug.James tells us, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" (4:8). So often we forget that we too are part of the equation of this relationship. We at some moment in our relationship with God understand that we desire Him!I love Solomon's request, "Draw me, we will run after thee..." Pull me closer, Lord. Closer still! I don't, I won't tolerate any distance between us! You are my desire! My focus! I want to be closer to you! I am running after you!!!I agree with David, "...it is good for me to draw near to God..." (Ps. 73:28)
