Monday's "To do list"

Jesus said to His Father, "I have finished the work that You gave me to do." I have often wondered if that meant there were no more people to heal, no more sermons to preach, no more lessons to teach  and no more people to train? Were there no more people who needed to hear His Gospel? Was the "to do" list complete, every box checked?I have spent countless years pondering His words. It seems to me that Christ came to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. In order to see that mission accomplished there appears to be a couple of things that had to be done: First, give direct access to The Father through the forgiveness of sins and secondly, empower some other people who could carry the message to the rest of the world and to other generations. On the night of His betrayal, Jesus knew that He would finish the first goal on the Cross. As He prayed, He looked into the faces of the people who would be filled with the Holy Spirit and take the gospel to the ends of the earth. He knew "I have finished the work that You gve me to do."Lord help me today .... to do the work that You have given me to do! Align my priorities with Yours! Fill me afresh with your Spirit! Guide my steps! That I may come to the close of this day and be able to say, "I have done today what You gave me to do."
