UNITY IS COMING!

Wednesday November 6, 2013The call has been issued...The challenge has been made....Forever, O LORD,Your word is settled in heaven.  Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides. Psa. 119:89-90  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Rev. 12:11LORD, Thank you for your Word! Everything and everyone was created and is sustained by the Word! You are the Word! Your Word is You!Today by the reading of your Word I realize once again that Victory will be, and always has been found by the Blood and the Word. Help each of us today to know and to trust in the Word that you have been and continue to be.So they were offended at Him. ¶ But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.” Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matt. 13:57-58They were so close that they could not believe. Even you were not received by those who were the most familiar with you.   Help us today not to be blinded by our own sight. But to allow your Word to be our guiding light.Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things!  And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. Psalm 72:18-19The following comes from the verse that I have been meditating on as I have prepared to speak to a breakfast group this morning. I am going to talk to them about a movement among our local churches that longs for the unity of the church.I hope you not only pray for me, but also for the unity of the Church.__________________________________________________________________ Behold how good and how pleasant it is, For brethren to dwell together in unity!Psalm 133:1 NKJHave you ever wondered about Jesus’ prayer for unity: .... that they all may be one... eve as we are one (John 17:21,22)? Have you ever questioned how this unification could ever be realized? What is it going to take to see unity come to the fragmented and divided Body of Christ? The good news is: it is going to happen! Every time we pray the Lord’s prayer, we speed the day of its fulfillment. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven” is a request that is sure to be granted. Jesus never prayed a prayer that was not answered. Some people believe that it will take some sort of global crisis and persecution to unify the Church. Some point to the climate, or the wars or the financial challenges as the things that will cause the knees of the Church to bow in agreement.I feel God would get more glory from a unity based on internal love than one based on external coercion. I appears that we are saying, “Lord, You can’t unify us with the message of love and forgiveness, so You’ll have to do it with the threat of destruction.” I don’t really believe that God’s grace, mercy and love are exalted by a unity that comes by some sort of force. One translation of Psalm 133 reads like this: “What a wonderful thing it is when brothers live together in harmony.” Let’s remember that the closer we get to the Lord, the closer we get to each other and the closer we are to each other the closer we are to the Lord. Our Lord prayed that we would be one. “....has He said, and will He not do it? Or spoken, and will He not make it good.” (Numbers 23:19 NKJ).UNITY IS COMING!
